What a sense of mission they must feel to undertake such a time consuming calling as raising and training guide dogs for the blind. Only a great love could account for such devotion.
And to think that a blind person living as far away as Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada was blessed by their work of love.

If you ever wanted to raise a puppy and at the same time help someone else this is the book for you. Well written, full of a wealth of information and dedication. This is one of those pass it on books. Enjoy.
I now have a better understanding of how the process works and the special people involved in the program. The dogs are so special too. An informative quick read.
I really enjoyed reading this book . I too asked how someone could give back a dog , after having it live with you .
as your pet . Reading the book gave me more of an understanding . I have met Mark , one of the dogs written about , he is such a wonderful dog and the Youngs are very special people too . Good luck good book .
Great book, very interesting and informative, written by a great dog lover like me. I really admire those that devote their lives to working with dogs and helping to create the very important and heavenly inspired bond between dog and man. I can only wish that Janice and Mr. Young inspire all those that have read this book and those that will read it as much as they have inspired me. Guide dogs are among the many four legged Angels that serve mankind and help us live better lives. I don't know what we would do without these four legged angels. Thank You Janice for your service and a get book.
I received this book as a gift. It is a wonderful recollection of raising 21 Seeing Eye puppies. I especially enjoyed the letters from the recipients of these wonderful dogs.
What dedication and love the Young family has for raising these great dogs.
I also learned that raising a Seeing Eye Guide dog is very rewarding. Even when you have to give them up after 12 months or so.
I found it interesting that not all dogs become Seeing Eyes, and was happy to know that some get other rewarding jobs and some are adopted out to a loving home.
I encourage everyone that loves dogs to read this great book.
PUPPY EYES GUIDE THE BLIND is such an educational reading made so interesting and entertaining even encouraging others to become 4-H Puppy Raisers. You find out how Seeing Eye started, what has to be done to train the puppies to eventually guide the blind, the different personalities and qualities of the puppies and what the public should know when encountering the puppies and dogs at work with a trainer or blind person. Letters are included from the
blind persons expressing their thanks to the raisers for giving them such a gift to help them go on with daily
activities and even go to work in some cases. Enjoy!
